Introduction to the network

The Future Syria Network is an independent, non-profit platform dedicated to promoting legal and economic awareness and building a future vision for Syria as a democratic state founded on the rule of law, respect for human rights, and sustainable development. The network was established out of the need to guide Syrian society toward a better understanding of its rights and duties, and to work on building strong institutions that contribute to achieving social justice and democracy.
Why was the network founded?
The Future Syria Network was established to achieve a set of core objectives:
• Guiding Society: Contributing to raising awareness among Syrians about the importance of the rule of law and fundamental rights.
• Reconstruction: Offering insights and proposals for institutional reform and rebuilding the Syrian economy.
• Event Documentation: Providing a historical archive documenting pivotal events following the departure of the previous regime.
• Community Engagement: Supporting civil society to become a driving force for democratic transition and sustainable development.
• Empowering Individuals: Publishing simplified and accessible content to help Syrians understand the legal and economic challenges they face.
Network objectives
Disseminating legal and economic awareness: Providing simplified educational content on rights and freedoms, transitional justice, and institutional reform.
Documentation: Building a comprehensive archive of the major events in Syria since the departure of the previous regime.

It avoids complex writing and heavy technical jargon, focusing instead on delivering knowledge in an easy and direct manner to spread awareness and enhance collective understanding.

Salim Sendiane
• Field of Expertise: Public international law and the democratization of the Arab world.
• Personal Profile:
Salim Sandiyan is a Syrian researcher and academic specializing in public international law, with extensive experience in studying political transitions and the democratization of the Arab world. Born in Damascus, Syria, he earned a law degree from Damascus University and a PhD in Public International Law from Sorbonne University in Paris in 2017.
He worked as an Assistant Professor at Al-Asala University College of Law in Saudi Arabia in 2023 and served as a researcher in the Public Law Department at the Free University of Brussels from 2018 to 2022.
In addition to his academic work, Salim is a founding member of the Syrian Human Rights Organization in Exile and the Director of the Future Syria Network.

Ahmad Kodmani

• Personal Profile:
Ahmed Qudmani is a Syrian lawyer and researcher specializing in public law and constitutional systems. Born in Syria, he holds a PhD in Public Law from Angers University in France. He has extensive experience as a legal consultant on migration and asylum issues in France and worked as a researcher in the Public Law Department at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium between 2016 and 2018.
Ahmed is an associate member of the Syrian team in the Legal Laboratory for Mediterranean Public Law since 2017 and has participated in multiple training courses at the International Institute of Human Rights in France. He has notable academic contributions on constitutional issues and legal reform in Syria.

Anas Alaswad is a Syrian researcher in digital economy and technological innovation management, with over five years of experience in digital transformation and strategic project management. Born in Syria, he holds a Master’s degree in Information Management from KU Leuven in Belgium and a Master’s degree in International Business from the Free University of Brussels (VUB).
Anas specializes in developing technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support sustainable economic growth. His research focuses on integrating modern technology with economic development strategies, with extensive experience in data analysis and artificial intelligence.
